How Changing Your Diet Can Help With Yeast Infections

It might surprise you to learn that there are many ways that you might be able to get a yeast infection. When it comes to creating a diet for the use of treating a yeast infection you should really call it a detox. First of all you need to understand that consuming plenty of water is needed. Water is an important aspect of detoxing. It helps flush out the toxins inside the body. In addition to water, drinking fresh fruit juices and even green tea be added to the liquid intake. But emphasis is given to drinking at least eight glasses of water daily. 

Eating lots of fresh food is also an important part of the diet. It would be best to void processed and highly fatty foods, this is not only important for treating your infection but to keep your body healthy on a daily basis. Avoid overcooking your food too. Foods have a tendency to loose much of its nutrients when heat is applied so be sure to cook your food just right. Two of the best cooking methods is to steam and to sautée. Vegetables don’t need cooking, just make it a salad and you’re ready to go. However, we do suggest that you avoid eating sweet vegetables like carrots, corn, potatoes, onions, and sweet potatoes.

Eat a lot of garlic. Garlic contains antibacterial properties which help in eliminating the overgrowth of yeast. A diet rich in green vegetables but lower in meat is also good. Fish, beef, lamb, poultry and eggs are okay in moderation.
